FAQs about Vimhans

How much do diagnostic tests cost at Vimhans?

Prices at Vimhans vary by test and change from time to time. Use the "Reveal phone number" button above and call the centre for a confirmed quote on the test your doctor prescribed. As a guide, a routine blood test in Delhi typically costs ₹150-₹1,500 and imaging like MRI or CT can range from ₹3,500 to ₹18,000.

Can I get home sample collection from Vimhans?

Vimhans is not currently listed as offering home sample collection. Call the centre to confirm - some labs add this service on request. If you need home visits, browse other verified centres in Delhi on Locatemycentre filtered by "Home Visit".

How long does it take to get test reports from Vimhans?

Most routine reports (CBC, lipid, LFT, KFT, blood sugar) are ready within 6-12 hours of sample collection. Thyroid, vitamin D, HbA1c and most hormone panels take 24 hours. Specialised tests (biopsy, culture, advanced hormones) can take 3-7 days. Imaging reports (X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT) are usually available the same day or within 24 hours. Confirm the exact turnaround when you book.

Do I need a doctor's prescription to get a test done?

For most routine tests in India - blood work, urine routine, basic imaging - you can walk in without a prescription. For some advanced tests (certain hormones, biopsies, scheduled drugs, contrast scans) a doctor's reference is required by law. Specialists also rely on a prescription to interpret results in context. When in doubt, get a brief consult first.

Is Vimhans NABL or NABH accredited?

Ask the centre directly for the NABL (for pathology labs) or NABH (for radiology/hospitals) certificate number, then verify it on nabl-india.org or nabh.co. Accreditation is the strongest quality signal we recommend checking before booking, especially for tests that drive a treatment decision such as thyroid, diabetes, lipid or hormone panels.

How will I receive my report?

Most centres email a PDF report to the address you give at registration, and many also offer a download link or app login using your patient ID. Hard-copy collection at the counter is usually free; courier delivery is optional and may carry a small charge. Save the digital copy - your physician will want to compare it against past results.

What payment methods does Vimhans accept?

Most diagnostic centres in Delhi accept cash, UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), debit/credit cards, and net banking. Insurance cashless settlement is offered by larger chains for empanelled tests - confirm with the centre and your insurer before the visit.

What if I'm unhappy with the report or service?

Call the centre first and ask for a free repeat draw if the result looks clinically inconsistent - NABL-accredited labs reprocess at no charge in such cases. If unresolved, escalate to the centre's quality officer (every NABL lab has one) and, if needed, raise a complaint with NABL via nabl-india.org. You can also report listing errors to Locatemycentre via the contact page.
